Normally, all cash bond refunds, less any non-refundable fees (processing or otherwise), will be provided by the Clerk of Court in the jurisdiction where the inmate was arrested at the conclusion of the case.
If you paid/posted a cash bond and were later notified by the Detention Center that the bond amount or bond itself was incorrect, Cash Bond Online will process a refund within 10 business days of receiving a notice from the Detention Center. Cash Bond Online will only refund a bond (or a portion of a bond in the case of a monetary error made by the Detention Center) upon receipt of an email from the Detention Center directing us to make a refund. However, if your cash bond has already been sent to the Clerk’s Office, you must request a refund directly from the Clerk of Court. Also, if you are ever permitted by the Court to come off an inmate’s bond, you will need to request a refund directly from the Clerk of Court.
If a hold is placed on an inmate (e.g. probation, ICE), payment of the cash bond will clear the listed charges, but the inmate will not be released until the hold is released. Please contact the Detention Center directly to inquire about what is necessary to remove the hold.
Additional information on refunds may be found under the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
